Collabarative Analysis of Students Work-Session One
The CASW session Kicked off in stlye. In the first session Hema presented her work on electro chemicals. This project was done by group of 5 students. It's a great experience to have a discussion within our group on the key questions about student learning and research. This session really helps me to find out or analyse on different dimensions to particular issue.
The key questions were
1. How to assess if enough research has been done by all participants?
My response: Find out from students about the specific area of research by each student in their project and follow up the work.
2.How to assess learning has happened?
My response: The objectives were given so the learning did happen. But the objectives on assesssment is not included.
3. What are different ways students can cope with the fear in addressing the gathering?
Lot of preparation should be done by the students with the help of teacher before presentation. Since the presentation is also interactive students should have practiced the presentation few times and clarified their doubts.
Finally we have sorted out few collabarative strategies (please refer Hema's Blog) which will really help in handling group works. It's a great start and looking forward to more sessions.

that's a good format and i can use it when i blog in the future.
Joel, you have very clearly indicated your response to each of the key questions and that makes the posting very useful as it indicates your response and reflection on each question.
Thank you for the clear thinking and representation.
Yes, practicing a presentation repeatedly till you are sure of your content is one way to get the student to be more confident. Another would be to give the student more opportunities to present- that is more topics for presentation- the presentation could be in a format that is most comfortable to the student.
And I agree with Tara- your blogging format is really great Joel!
