The Collabarative analysis of Students Work - 4
The CASW session is back to form. The session - 4 took off after minor strugle. The presenter is Bala and Vijaya facilitated the presentation. Bala has selected an appropriate place the art courtyard to give is presentation. The presentation does not have a taste of art, that may be the reason for Bala to select the art courtyard(to give art flavour to the presentation). The presentation is about planning for the A level Art and Design exam.
The students need to do research and create painting for this they need to find a place which has an artistic value. The students need to go to the place and do the art. The other problem is the students need to prepare 10 preparatory work and the final course work. Bala wants to plan for the outbound work at the same time students should not be disturbed doing other subjects. He is also concerned about his presence with the students.
Key questions:
1.How to schedule and plan the sessions(practical work) when the locations are outside the school?
2. How to facilitate learning in such a situation?
3. How to ensure completion of the painting as per the schedule( even unmonitored)?
My Response
Plan the programme meticulously and try to use the weekends. Also plan for short term work and assessment for every part of the work done by the students. Which should be a continuous process. Also conduct exhibition of the students work to other students in the school which will create an interest in students to work and plan for the course work and also to show full commitment towards the work. To facilitate learning Bala can try peer assessment.
There are few other useful strategies given my my group participants to read those strategies please read Bala, Koshy, Hema and Vijayarajeswari Blog's.
